PURIM
3 Purim Mitzvot:

1.        To hear the Megillah read

2.       To give gifts of food to friends (shalach manot)

3.       And 3, to give food to the poor (matanot la’evyonim)

ACTION ITEM >> Bring a canned or dried good to the synagogue during Purim for our collection for Jewish Family Services.  If you bring a canned or dried good to the  Purim Carnival you get an extra game ticket!

Mishloach Manot
Giving mishloach manot at Purim reminds us that being a Jew means being part of a community and sharing celebrations with friends. Giving these gifts of food is a mitzvah that shows your friends and neighbors you value being part of our community.

Each HEA member family will receive one beautiful mishloach manot gift bag filled with fruit, baked goods, candies, and other treats. Attached to the gift will be a note with the names of all the families who sponsored the member's gift bag.

ACTION ITEM >> How you can help
It is a major undertaking to deliver mishloach manot to over 940 members and we need many volunteers to become involved. Don't worry, you won't have to drive all over town. Each bag is organized into compact delivery areas (even your neighborhood).

  • Contact the HEA office 303-758-9400 for more information and to volunteer to deliver these treats.

ACTION ITEM >> We Need You

  • Volunteers to assemble treat bags on Thursday, February 18, 2010, 6:30 pm
