6th Grade Mensch Academy Retreat 2023!

Parents,

We made some changes to the sixth grade retreat in January, and as a result hopefully we can accommodate more of our students.  Instead of heading up to Winter Park, we will be moving the retreat back to Denver, which will now be starting on Saturday, January 7th at 5:30pm and ending at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 8th.  While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to play in the mountains together, we are confident that we will be able to still facilitate the fun and meaningful bonding experience of the retreat here at HEA.

The cost of the updated retreat will now be $90, and families who have already paid more will be refunded any additional monies paid.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Sixth Grade Retreat

What if my child can’t attend the full retreat – can they still attend part of the retreat?

While we encourage all students to attend the full retreat, we understand that this might not be possible in all circumstances.  We can accommodate students who may need to arrive late or depart early. We would like your child to attend as much of the retreat as they are able to and to be included in this important class bonding experience.

Is it too late to sign up if we are not yet registered?

No, it’s not too late.  We encourage everyone to attend.

Where are the kids sleeping?

The student will be sleeping on the floor of the GYC on separate levels by gender.  Pack a sleeping back or blanket as well as a sleeping pad, if possible, to provide extra padding for comfort.

My child has food allergies - can you accommodate this?

Yes, just indicate this on your forms when you register.

My child take medications – how will that work?

Our staff will be administering any prescription or over the counter medications that kids need to take while on retreat.  Just bring your child’s medications in their original containers inside a ziplock back with their name on it to drop off.
