Vidui as a Vision for Our Soul
Thursday, September 10, 2020 • 21 Elul 5780
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMZoomOne of the most powerful Yom Kippur prayers is the confessional Vidui. The Vidui is also an end-of-life confession, although with a different formula from the Yom Kippur Vidui. While the cheshbon hanefesh of the holidays may be retrospective in nature, the holiday season, from shabbat hazon through Elul to Simchat Torah, is future looking. After Yom Kippur we sit in the sukkah as a vision of G-d's redemption and grace, and then we start a new year of Torah.
As we dwell in the love of Elul, join Spiritual Guide, Jon Gottsegen, as we use the Vidui as the start of discerning what is meaningful for our neshama and then let that discernment inspire a vision from our soul for our future. This session will consist of a combination of some brief teaching, chant, visioning, and journaling or art. Please come with pen and paper for journaling or paper and implements for drawing or art (markers, crayons, pictures for a collage, etc.), and with an open heart.
