HEAConnect: Tikkun Olam

Who We Are: We are a small, collaborative group of fellow congregants who answered the HEA Connect call to form a Tikkun Olam group. We chose to focus our repairing the world efforts at helping those in Denver’s unhoused community.

Sukkot Tzedakah Project

We are launching a new project to coincide with the fall holiday of Sukkot. From September 20-27, the week of Sukkot, we will be providing meals to the unhoused population of Denver’s Safe Outdoor Spaces (S.O.S.), who...
Just like our ancestors, are currently dwelling in tents.

Three Ways That You Can Help:
* Donate a meal through our Amazon Wish List;
* Help us to raise $1,500 for food trucks and prepared meals, donate to our fund HERE.
* Visit us at the HEA Community Fall Sukkot Festival on Sunday September 26, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  You can drop off a check, kids can make cards to give to the S.O.S. residents and we will have a representative from the Interfaith Alliance to answer your questions about the S.O.S. project. You can also chat with us about the Tikkun Olam Group.

How to Join Us: We meet twice a month (currently via Zoom) and welcome new members! For more information or to join our growing email list and find out about our upcoming projects, including our Tikkun O-Yum dinner preparations for The Delores Project, a shelter for unhoused women, please contact Anne.wattenberg@gmail.com.
