Creating a community of caring at the HEA To volunteer for any of the opportunities listed below contact Jody Meyer at jmeyer@HEAdenver.org or 303-758-9400 x203

Hesed Society Meal Train
Cook for and deliver meals to people with short term needs. Kosher or non-kosher kitchens okay.

Hesed Meal Train Coordinators
We need 6-12 people to take a month to coordinate arranging for meals as needed. This will all done by email. Joyce Perlmutter, Assistant to the Rabbis, would contact you when meals are needed.

Shiva Minyan Leaders
We need people throughout the Metro Denver area to lead shiva minyans when clergy are not able. Great familiarity with services is necessary, further training will be provided.

Shiva Minyan Makers
Periodically there are not enough adults to form a minyan at a shiva home. We need people throughout the Metro Denver area who are willing to be on call to help make a minyan.

Shiva Minyan Set Up
On rare occasions, a family or individual needs assistance setting up their home for shiva minyans and for visitation after burial. Must have daytime availability.

Shabbat Calls
Calling one of our most senior members every Friday to wish them a Shabbat Shalom.

Bikur Holim—Visiting the sick
Volunteers would spend time with members who are in need of visitors. This may be a long-term commitment, for example with a homebound person, or a shorter-term commitment, for example with someone in a rehabilitation center. This is a selective process entailing meeting with the rabbis and mandatory training.
