Lottery Information Regarding Shabbat Worship Services

Beginning with the Shabbat morning services of September 26, we will continue our tradition of having two Shabbat morning services at HEA.These changes in no way affect our Kol Nidre/Yom Kippur schedule or livestreaming.

While we all hope that 5781 will bring a day when we can throw away our lottery protocol and all be together for worship, until then, we will continue to follow all CDC recommendations and state regulations on gatherings limits, social distancing, hygiene and mask wearing protocols.

Please note the change in start time. We will be staring both services at 9:30 a.m. beginning September 26. We will continue to livestream each Shabbat morning.  You will have the option from home to stream either service.

These changes also bring changes to our weekly lottery. We are still following the recommendations offered by the CDC and we are continuing to recommend that you be aware of how and where you feel safest and plan your participation accordingly. If you feel you may have come into contact with someone who has COVID or you don’t feel well on Shabbat morning, we ask that you stay at home and join us online.

We will continue to run lotteries every week.

  • We will be welcoming 30 participants in our Sanctuary every week.
  • We will also be welcoming 10 participants to our worship service that will be in Bay 4 of our Social Hall.
  • As before, congregants honoring yahrzeits should email me at laura@headenver.org to register but will not be required to enter the weekly lottery.

As mentioned in yesterday’s email, both services will come together in the Sanctuary at the beginning of the Torah service. We will be alternating Traditional and Shir worship styles in between the Social Hall and the Sanctuary. To find out which service will be in what space, you can check out our calendar on our website or look for our weekly Tuesday lottery emails.

Here is the schedule for the next few weeks as an example:

  • Traditional Service in the Social Hall, Bay 4. There will be 10 seats available through a lottery.
