No one is ever turned away because of finances and we work with all families to ensure that HEA is affordable.
Absolutely. Our congregation comprises a beautiful mixture of long-time Denverites and many transplants from all over the United States. The demographics in Denver have changed dramatically in the last two decades and we have benefited from the influx of new members.
We encourage people with infants and small children to participate in our Shabbat morning services and other family programs. In addition to welcoming “little ones” into the sanctuary, we have a wiggle room with toys that overlooks the main sanctuary. Once a month, we have a lively Tot Shabbat program, a combined parent and child service and quarterly we have Shabbat Along, a young family musical Friday night service with a robust service and dinner.
The clergy of the Alliance are easy to reach. Call Debbie at 720-390-4435 to set a meeting with a member of the clergy.
Our staff are friendly, easily approachable, and ready to answer your questions. Please contact Amy Karp, our Engagement director at 720-390-4434.
Women are total participants in the bimah. Just like men, they can have aliyot, read from the Torah, chant a haftarah, and receive other bimah honors.
The Alliance offers various educational programs for individuals with different backgrounds, including an adult b’nai mitzvah program.
Jews by Choice are accepted equally with Jews by Birth. Several Jews by Choice have served on the Board of Directors, as congregation officers, and in other leadership roles.
The HEA has a large social hall, designed to be flexible, with comfortable spaces available for all size groups with a maximum number of 600. The Alliance has a professionally equipped kitchen that can accommodate large groups.
The Alliance has a flexible catering policy with an in-house caterer, Cohen’s Cuisine, and the availability to use other Kosher Denver area caterers.
The HEA is conveniently located in southeast Denver. The synagogue is one block west of I-25 and two blocks south of Hampden Ave. There is a map and direction on our contact page.
