Conversational Hebrew with Sherry Grinsteiner
Wednesdays: Intermediate at 6:30 p.m., Beginners at 7:30 p.m.

Hebrew Reading for the Beginner
Wednesdays, 6:45 p.m.

Designed for the novice, this eight-week (1 hour) class provides the opportunity to learn to read Hebrew with accuracy and ease. Cost: $65 tuition. For further information, please contact Judi Marcus at fei31046@aol.com. Registration must be completed before the start of class.

Feldenkrais Gentle Movement with Shira Salzberg 
Thursdays, 9:45 a.m., GYC

Developed by Moshe Feldenkrais this class uses gentle exercises and focused attention, bringing energy and flexibility to your movements. Cost: Members: $15 class ,5 punch card: $60 members/ non-members. 

Torah Study and Story with Cherie Karo Schwartz
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m., GYC

Adult Torah study through ancient and contemporary reflections, commentaries and tales on each week's parashah. Cost: Members: $15 class,5 punch card: $60 members/non-members. 

Saturday Class during Musaf, about 11:15 a.m. 
Every Shabbat during Musaf join one of our teachers in the HEA Library for a text study. No charge, no prior knowledge needed, no RSVP needed. 
 
Saturday Drop-In Mah Jongg & Bridge, 1:30 p.m., Library 
No RSVP needed, open to all levels of players. Please bring a Mah Jongg card if you have one.

 
 
 

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

Conversational Hebrew and Shabbat Musaf class: 
Sherry Grinsteiner was born and raised in Israel. She is the Rabbinic Intern and Education Director at the HEA, and has been teaching Hebrew here for many years. She is currently studying for her ordination for the rabbinate from the Aleph Ordination Program.

Studying and Storying the Torah: 
Cherie Karo Schwartz is a professional Storyteller, Author and Educator, teaching and performing for 4 decades around the country and abroad. She is immersed in Jewish worldwide cultures, bibliodrama, and Jewish Spiritual Education. The Torah Study and Story class blends commentaries, midrashim, stories and poetry to create a unique perspective for the class to delve into, through heart, mind and spirit.

Hebrew Reading for Adults: 
Judi Marcus has an MA in Education. She has successfully taught child and adult Hebrew classes for more than 25 years in the Denver area. She currently teaches classes focused on teaching adults to read Hebrew and a more advanced class on prayer book reading. On Wednesday evenings, beginning September 11 at HEA, we'll be offering an eight- week beginners class that will be immediately followed by a five-week advanced class focused on reading from the Siddur.  

Talmud and Shabbat Musaf class: 
Judge David Richman is a judge of the Colorado Court of Appeals. He has been teaching Talmud and Shabbat Musaf classes at the HEA for many years. Every summer he returns to Israel to study at the Pardes Institute, bringing this new learning to his classes.

Shabbat Musaf class: 
Marlene Richter retired to Denver from Florida. She has been teaching Torah for the past 52 years, which is her favorite subject to teach. She is a bar/bat mitzvah and Hebrew tutor as well as a teacher at the HEA Religious School. Getting involved in adult education has been very exciting for her. She speaks English, Hebrew, and Yiddish.

Feldenkrais Gentle Movement and Prayer Through Movement: 
Shira Salzberg is a trained Feldenkrais teacher. Each of her weekly classes explores a particular Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement lesson, and the monthly Shabbat class uses the Feldenkrais teachings to bring new insights to our understanding of the Morning Blessings.

Shabbat Musaf class: 
Steve Uslan is a Family Law attorney in Denver. Steve has been teaching Shabbat morning Musaf classes at the HEA. He also teaches classes at the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and Talmud and Tanakh at his home and continues his Jewish education through hevrutah study.
