HEA Choir Initiative - SHIRU! (Singing Here, In Ru’ach and Unity)
Singing together is a large part of HEA community involvement, from the launch of Shir Hadash services to the inclusion of a choir in the traditional High Holiday services, the creation of Levi’im service leaders, and the exciting and participatory HEA concert series. We are now excited to announce the launch of a new HEA choir initiative. We are now excited to announce the launch of a new HEA choir initiative, SHIRU! (Singing Here, In Ru’ach and Unity), under the leadership of Alice Fasman, Eitan Kantor and Leah Peer.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the SHIRU! is to enhance Jewish identity and community engagement through lifelong involvement in choral singing.
To that end, the SHIRU is launching three choirs:
- Nevatim (sprouts): Kids choir for grades 2-5, Tuesdays, 5:00–5:45 p.m.
- Kaftorim (buds): Youth choir for grades 6-12, Tuesdays 5:50-6:50 p.m.
- Prachim (flowers): Adult choir, open to ages 13 and up, Tuesdays, 6:55–8:30 p.m.

- Heading Into Shavuot - Friday early evening, May 8, 2026
