HEA Preschool

Preschool is a rewarding experience for children and their parents. It makes an important contribution to each child's growth and development through deep respect for the individual child, emphasis on developing creative thinking, a positive approach to language development, and promotion of cooperative effort. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse Jewish community of learners at the Hebrew Educational Alliance Preschool.

We invite you to look into our happy, noisy, creative classrooms and see children at play. We want you to understand the validity of play and its importance in learning. Children learn through play-based activities that allow them to mimic and define life experiences and achievements. Working with parents and teachers can create a rich and stimulating environment for your children.

Program Goals

The programs are designed to meet the child's needs and promote continuous growth in the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and creative areas of development. Our programs emphasize the development of a positive Jewish identity through experiences involving Shabbat, Jewish holidays, blessings, culture, and values.

HEA Preschool Philosophy

Play is the major activity of all young children and the basic ingredient of their learning. It is the medium for self-expression in the way each child organizes and makes sense of the world. To play is to invent, hypothesize, test, and discover. It provides the most permanent and meaningful learning of cognitive concepts. Play promotes social values. Social sensitivity is not something that is suddenly achieved. It is a slow process that involves learning how to share, cooperate, and empathize with others, building interpersonal trust and emotional maturity. We provide a large variety of constructive, dramatic, and creative materials and experiences to facilitate this growth.

Our programs are carefully designed to meet the individual child’s needs and to promote continuous growth in the social, emotional, intellectual, physical and creative areas of development. Our programs emphasize the development of a positive Jewish identity through experiences involving Shabbat, Jewish holidays, blessings, culture and values.

The Hebrew Educational Alliance Preschool is guided by its rabbis, synagogue education department, and lay leaders and ascribes to the rabbinic teaching:

The world is sustained through Torah, Avodah – worship, and Gemilut Hasadim – acts of loving kindness. - Pirke Avot 1:2
