The November Tikkun Olam program date has moved to December 1, 2021 to have the students volunteer at the HEA Hanukkah Luau.  We are in need of one adult and 5-6 teens (or more) to volunteer to collect donations for the charitable organization.

Teen volunteers will work from 5:30PM to 8:30PM on Wednesday, 12/1/21.  Students will organize and run this part of the community event.  

We will be selling “candles” (paper candles) for people to purchase and tape on a large mural / board, for $1/candle or $10/Menorah for the Tikkun Olam project.   The goal will be to “light” 180 candles to donate to our partner charity. 

Children and families will be able to color and decorate their candles and tape it up on the large mural / board.  We'll have an area for the families to decorate their candles.  Our teens will run this Tikkun Olam project.

Our partner charity is Family Promise of Greater Denver where they provide shelter and workforce training for homeless families to get back on their feet.  Families arrive at Family Promise in crisis. FPGD aims to form relationships with each family by providing a spectrum of supportive services as they obtain stability. Their programs offer different interventions, based off each family’s housing needs. They focus on stable housing, employment and savings. By combining these three pillars of long - term stability with supportive programs such as rental assistance, extended case management, community mentors and other supports, we aim to end homelessness, one family at a time.  Check out their website for more information on FPGD.

Dinner is included for Teen volunteers and we'll sign their Community Service forms for school credit.
