Mile Chai
Confirmation & Youth Programs
Our HEART Youth programs consists of 3 chambers:
Confirmation for 10th grade
USY Youth Group for 8-12th grade
Kadima Youth Groups for 3-5 grades & 6-7 grades
HEA’s youth group is a proud part of the USY movement, where we aim to foster both personal growth and a deeper connection to Judaism. Each month, we plan and promote events for our teens, often taking place on Friday nights or Sundays, centered around engaging themes and typically including a meal. Our USY events are designed to bring together the synagogue’s youth, offering opportunities to meet, socialize, and hang out in a fun and welcoming environment. We always incorporate elements of Judaism into our activities, showing that embracing our heritage can enhance the experience rather than take away from it. Through these connections, we hope to inspire and strengthen the Jewish identities of everyone involved. We’d love to welcome new members to our events and invite them to be part of this journey with us.

Confirmation for 10th Grade —
Our 10th Grade Confirmation Cohort will meet under the theme of Confirmation, the Next Step in Your Jewish Journey. The 7 sessions will have a variety of topics related to Jewish Ethics, Mentorship, Comparative Religions and Comparative Jewish Denominations. Confirmation will be taught by Rabbi Shulman. We are currently planning a trip to DC for November, but as we discussed, we are open to rescheduling the trip to be in spring 2025 instead. Our Confirmation Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2025 with a Shabbat Dinner celebration.
Participating in HEA’s Confirmation unlocks $500 in extra scholarship funding for IST.
