Adult Ed Outdoors with Jon Gottsegen (Adults)

Sunday, July 25, 2021 16 Av 5781

9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

We will hike the Eagle's View loop trail in Reynold's Park (JeffCo Open Space). The park is approximately 45 minutes from HEA. We'll meet at 9:00 a.m. at HEA. If you want to meet at the park, you can find the Google map directions HERE. Essentially take 285 through Conifer. Take the Kennedy Gulch Rd exit. Make a left at the end of the exit ramp. Cross under the highway. The road curves to the right, and then take a left on Foxton Rd. Follow Foxton Rd. for about 5 miles to the park. If you would like to drive on your own, please let Jon know and meet us at the parking lot at 10:00 a.m.

The trail is 4.2 miles and is rated moderate in terms of physical demands, which means there is about 3/4 of a mile of some steep uphill at the start of the trail. We'll take our time on these sections. Of course we get to go down this at the end. Reynolds Park is a very nice park, and the trail goes through pretty ponderosa pine forests, so it is shaded, and has a nice view. Expect about three to three and a half hours of hiking including stops to sing, bless, learn, listen and just be. If we're really enjoying ourselves, we might be a little longer. We'll plan to be back at HEA a little after 2:00 p.m. depending on our stops.

Bring: Ample water (at least 1 liter), snacks, rain jacket, sunscreen, hat, and an extra layer in case the weather turns.
