A Message From Caron Blanke
.
We wish to share with you the news that our CEO, Laura Intfen, has tendered her resignation and will conclude her work at HEA on April 30, 2023.
Since Laura started in the position in October 2019, she led our swift response to Covid, oversaw a historic transition in clergy and staff leadership, and set us on a course of relational Judaism. Laura’s warm demeanor is seen and felt every Shabbat as she welcomes members and guests, as well as in her beautifully written words, often shared with the congregation.
During her tenure, Laura also faced down a personal health crisis and the many challenges of leading a large organization in a time of change. Her ability to engage in substantive and meaningful relationships with our professionals and members has contributed to the stability of the shul.
In the last three years, the responsibilities of her position changed, however. Recognizing that the organization’s needs are different now than when initially hired, Laura has made the difficult choice to step down.
While this will create an unexpected transition for our professional team, we intend to continue providing a seamless experience for our members. In the coming weeks, we will communicate with you about our plan to fill this critical role.
With the HEA Board of Directors and professional team, I would like to express my great affection, respect, and appreciation for Laura and all she has done to continue strengthening the incredible legacy of the Hebrew Educational Alliance. We will also let you know about an opportunity to wish Laura well before the end of April.
L’Shalom, Caron Blanke Chairperson, HEA Board of Directors
