A Message from the Rabbis:
Supporting Each Other, Supporting Israel
Dear HEA Community,
We were moved by gathering and praying together with over 2,000 people at last night’s community vigil. And we were touched by watching our HEArt religious school students and families march to Temple Sinai on Sunday in songs of solidarity, hope, and peace. We need community at this time of crisis.
REACH OUT TO US We’re reaching out today to share our commitment to be here to support you. Please reach out to Rabbi Gruenwald or Rabbi Shulman for support and counseling, or to share how your family is personally impacted. We can also direct you to one of the experienced grief and trauma therapists we have in our community who have generously made themselves available to congregants in need at this time.
COME TO HEA Many of us feel alone or carry the weight of being a thousand miles away from Israel. We invite you to step towards one another at this time and come to HEA. We invite you to join us this Friday evening for a special Prayers for Israel Azamra service. Register HERE. Also, we encourage you to consider coming to morning minyan or services on Saturday to pray, to learn, to mourn, and to be with others in our community.
SUPPORT ISRAEL We must do our part to support on the ground efforts in Israel at this time. Please consider making a donation to support Jewish Colorado’s Israel Emergency Fund – all donations will be matched 1:1 up to $600,000 – or one of the other organizations supporting emergency response in Israel at this time, including Magen David Adom and Hatzalah. To learn more about how to support Israel at this time, we direct you to the Jewish Colorado and ADL websites.
מִמַּעֲמַקִּים קְרָאתִיךָ - We call out to You, God, from the depths. Hear our cry, listen to our plea for mercy. Healer of the brokenhearted - we pray for Your protection over the people of Israel and those who stand in its defense. Protect the innocent and bring evil-doers to justice. Give us the strength to hold one another with compassion in times of distress, and the courage to hope in times of fear.
