We want to let you know about staffing changes at HEA. These transitions reflect a thoughtful process of organizational restructuring intended to improve performance, lower costs, and provide better service to our members.
Director of Community Engagement – Amy Karp
We welcome Amy Karp as Director of Engagement at HEA, who is starting tomorrow! Amy comes to us from Chicago where she served as Director of Engagement at Anshe Emet Synagogue. She brings with her decades of experience in synagogue engagement, membership, fundraising, and programmatic leadership. Along with the depth of her experience in synagogue engagement work, Amy brings creativity, skills as a relationship builder with excellent communication skills, and an outgoing personality. We look forward to you getting to know Amy and her husband Dan, along with their children and grandchildren who live here in Colorado.
Director of Operations – Yuri Tavbin
Yuri Tavbin is shifting his role at HEA from Youth and Family Programming into the role of Director of Operations, overseeing all aspects of programmatic logistics, facilities management, and security. This is a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Youth Programming
Yuri will continue supporting youth programming through the end of the school year, while we search for a part-time Youth Advisor with a goal of filling that position this summer. In the interim, we will call upon some of our teens’ favorite youth group alumni to staff USY programs along with Yuri, including Ari Zucker, Jordan Snyder, and Rivka Cohen.
Custodial Staff – Teri Kenagy and Christopher Kenagy
We are grateful to Teri Kenagy and Christopher Kenagy, who have stepped down as custodians. Teri and Christopher have been valued and beloved members of our staff for many years. Our community thanks them for their dedication and personal commitment to the well-being of our members.
Staff Accountant – Crystal Haug
We welcome Crystal Haug to the HEA Staff as the new Staff Accountant to replace our outsourced accounting service. Crystal has 17 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and administration and has worked with nonprofits and in many other sectors. Crystal is from California and grew up in Thornton, CO. She has two grown sons, four dogs, and four cats between them.
We hope you’ll join us in thanking Teri and Christopher for their incredible service to the HEA community and in welcoming Amy and Crystal to our congregational family.
