We were shocked, disgusted, and saddened to learn of an attack this afternoon on the Boulder “Run for Their Lives” walk on Pearl Street. According to police reports, nine individuals were injured when a man threw an incendiary device at the walkers, who were gathered to call for the return home of all remaining hostages. Several individuals are still receiving medical care at this time as a result of burns and other injuries. Our hearts are with those who were affected by this attack and the Boulder Jewish community. We wish them all complete healing and may they know we stand with them and their families in prayer and in love.
Tonight, as we prepare to receive the Torah anew at the Festival of Shavuot, may we stand together in solidarity as a Jewish people in support of one another. Our HEA community will be coming together for an evening of learning with Temple Sinai and Temple Emanuel at Temple Sinai tonight (Register HERE). We planned this event many months ago so that we could learn together and from one another. Tonight we will also appreciate the opportunity to be in solidarity and support with one another.
As the rabbis teach, Kol Yisrael Aravim Zeh Bah Zeh, all our people are responsible for one another. We pray for complete recovery for those injured, for freedom for all the hostages whom our devoted community will continue to stand up for, and for peace for all at last.
Chag Sameach – May we find comfort and uplift in our relationships and our traditions,
