Memorial Service for Katherine Merage 

June 25 at 5:30 p.m., at HEA

Katherine Merage and her late husband Andre (who died in 2001) were active members of the Hebrew Educational Alliance during their years in Denver and remained connected after moving to California. Katherine and Andre Merage's legacy lives on at the HEA through their and their family's decades of generosity. The Merage family was instrumental in the construction of the Hebrew Educational Alliance's current building and dedicated a new Torah scroll for the congregation that is used to this day. Having never had the opportunity as a child, Katherine proudly celebrated becoming an adult bat mitzvah by reading from that Torah scroll. Katherine and Andre Merage's memories endure at our Goldberger Youth Center, which stands on the grounds of the Andre and Katherine Merage Campus.  

Katherine was laid to rest in Los Angeles on Monday, April 22, 2024. 

May her memory continue to be a source of blessing to her family and to our community.  

We mourn the passing of Katherine Merage, wife of Andre Merage (z"l); mother of Paul (Lilly) Merage, Liz Merage, Cameron Merage, David (Laura) Merage, and Lin Merage; grandmother of Richard (Lisa) Merage, Michelle Merage, Lauren (Tip) Scarry, Greg (Athena) Merage, Jeff (Alissa) Merage, Darian Merage, Jonathan Merage, Sabrina (Shawn) Naim, Courtney Merage, Spencer Merage, and Ava Merage; and great-grandmother of Matteo, Alex, Leonardo, Vaughn, and Charlie Merage, Grant, Isabel, and Brielle Merage, Simone and Lillybelle Scarry, Sarah, Austin, and Dillon Merage, Abigail, Eliana, and Gabriel Merage, and Sienna, Remy, and Cora Naim.
