I am pleased to announce that the vacant land to the east of our building has been sold.
The property closed Tuesday of this week, and the sale price was $4,000,000. We are committed to placing the money into our endowment, already set up through Jewish Colorado, and to judiciously use the interest generated from the endowment to help operate the synagogue.
We have been working on the sale for quite some time and enjoy an excellent relationship with the buyer. The buying group comprises Narrate Group and Palmquist Property Group. Their intent is to construct single family patio homes on the property. We do not expect construction to commence before the fourth quarter of 2026, and we expect to use the property for parking during the high holidays this coming year.
I would like to thank our member David Dansky for donating so much time and effort, providing excellent legal services, and helping us finalize the transaction. I would also like to recognize and thank past Board Presidents Gerard Rudofsky and Rick Rubin, as well as long time HEA member Howard Witkin, who were instrumental in the original transaction when we bought the ground from Denver Public Schools and built our current facility. It is only because of their foresight and their efforts that we can realize the benefits of this sale.
.
This sale is a game changer for our congregation and will allow us to continue to provide excellent services to our community. This money helps to insure the financial solvency of the Hebrew Educational Alliance well into the future.
To learn more about the land sale and the vision for the future of HEA, we invite you to join us at our Annual Meetingon May 21st at 6:00 p.m.
Shabbat Shalom!
