Every year, during the holiday of Shavuot, which this year begins on Sunday evening, June 1, and ends on Tuesday, June 3, we renew our connection to Torah by witnessing revelation from the footing of our own lives. The word "Shavuot" means "weeks," and the holiday concludes the journey of the Omer count, which we began at the second night of Pesach. In addition to its meaning "weeks," Shavuot also signifies "oaths."
On the first night of Shavuot, Jews study Torah together through a program known as Tikkun Leil Shavuot. This year for Erev Shavuot Tikkun Leil, we are partnering with Temple Emanuel and Temple Sinai to celebrate and study together at Temple Sinai on Sunday, June 1, starting at 7:00 p.m.Registration is required. We hope to see you there!
Yom Tov services for Shavuot will continue on Monday and Tuesday at HEA at 9:30 a.m. On Tuesday, June 3, Yizkor service will begin at approximately 11:15 a.m.
Shabbat Shalom!
