Important Israel Education Speaker at HEA on April 3

In Pirkei Avot, Rabbi Hillel wrote, "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?". He emphasizes the importance of self-responsibility and not postponing actions, as there may never be a better time than now.  

To help learn more about how to act on Rabbi Hillel’s wise words, please join us on April 3 at 7:00 p.m., at HEA, to hear from Yossi Klein Halevi, a well-known author and senior fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. Yossi can be heard weekly on his podcast with Donniel Hartman entitled "For Heaven's Sake".  

We are sponsoring a speaker series here at HEA to bring in inspirational speakers to teach us opportunities to address the attacks against the Jewish people and how we can help. While we recognize the Israeli political situation is not perfect, we feel compelled to demonstrate continued support for the Israeli people and for Israel even if one disagrees with certain details or perspectives.

Shai Davidai, a Columbia University professor who is very active on social media working to protect Jewish students, was our first speaker on October 29, 2024.  Over 400 people attended the event.  One high school student shared that after the event he started wearing a Magen David necklace because he was inspired by Professor Davidai to show outwardly his pride in being Jewish. 

This past week, our April 3rd guest speaker, Yossi Klein Halevi was quoted in the March 19, 2025, Wall Street Journal expressing the difficulties for Israel in seeking a return of its people held hostage in Gaza by the Hamas terrorists while continuing to fight these Hamas monsters. We hope you will join us to hear Mr. Halevi’s perspectives regarding the ongoing dilemmas and challenges facing Israel.

The program will include music of the holocaust with the Eitan Kantor, The Colorado Hebrew Chorale and Guest Violinist from the Colorado Symphony, Samuel Nebyu.
