Our Chai School program for 8th - 11th-graders Begins Tomorrow! We are thrilled to announce that we are bringing back HEA’s Chai School. Chai School’s goal is to offer meaningful educational and social experiences for our teens while providing them the opportunity to connect with their friends. Chai School creates a safe and welcoming Jewish community that fosters a sense of belonging for our teens and social/emotional tools as they mature into adulthood. Chai School will meet twice a month from December 2022 – May 2023, with a total of 10 sessions this year on Thursdays. All teens in 8th – 10th grade in the Denver community are welcome to participate in Chai School. Confirmation for the 10th Grade (and 11th Graders who did not get confirmed last year) is intertwined in the program as well. Each session will include a class discussion by cohort, dinner together, and then an elective class. Classes meet from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at HEA.
For our first meeting on December 1, we invite anyone in 8th-11th grade to try out the first class at no cost. Email Amanda Eckert at amanda@HEAdenver.org if you plan on attending in order to accommodate you. For more information and registration instructions, click HERE .

Announcing a Change to Weekly Shabbat Afternoon Services Effective October 2, 2022
We are announcing that HEA will discontinue weekly Shabbat mincha services on Saturday afternoons, with the exception of mincha b'nai mitzvah. Attendance at Shabbat mincha has declined greatly since resuming in July. Shabbat Mincha/Maariv will continue to be an option for b'nai mitzvah. On those weeks when there is a mincha b'nai mitzvah, community members are welcome to attend. HEA remains committed to providing prayer services every day of the week throughout the year. Here is our weekly schedule: - Daily morning minyan: Monday – Friday at 7:30 a.m., Sundays and national holidays at 8:00 a.m. - Friday Evening services: Fridays at 6:00 p.m. (the start time will change after DST. There will be no Friday Evening services when there is an Azamra service.) - Shabbat morning service: Traditional service at 9:30 a.m., Shir Hadash at 10:00 a.m. Currently, we are offering Shir Hadash twice a month. Stay tuned for updates this winter when we hope to announce the return of Shir Hadash on a more frequent basis.
